The HPBOSE is also known as Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education and HP board. It came into existence in 1969. This board was established as per Himachal Pradesh Act Number 14 of 1968 with its head-quarter at Shimla later shifted to Dharamshala In January 1983. A lot of schools are affiliated with this board. It is agency o Government of Himachal Pradesh entrusted with the responsibilities of prescribing courses of text books, instructions, as well as conducting examinations for secondary school students in Himachal Pradesh.
