The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) is the board of distance education that conducts secondary and senior secondary examinations for the students of Class 10th and Class 12th. It is reported that this institute enrols approximately 3.5 lakh students every year for these two examinations. The examinations are held twice in the year, once during April-May and then during October-November. The exam dates for April-May session is yet to be announced by the board. For the October-November session, the Secondary exam result was announced on 15 December 2016 while the results for senior secondary exam were announced on 12 December 2016.
